A Message from Susan Zibrat

I have proudly served the Amphitheater Public School District as a parent volunteer, funding champion, and Governing Board Member for over 15 years. My interest in school finance and governance began in the early-2000s when my daughters were students at Amphi schools and I saw state budget cuts hurting our schools. This moved me to step up and advocate for change.

In those first few years, I was the part of the leadership in local advocacy groups that successfully lobbied for millions of dollars in voter-approved overrides and bonds to fund critical operational and educational needs in the Amphitheater District. I eventually ran for a seat on the Governing Board and served from 2011 to 2014. I was appointed to fill a Board vacancy from 2017 to 2018 and was elected to my current term in 2018.

My dedication to the Amphitheater community of students, parents, guardians and employees remains as strong today as it was when I was first moved to action as a parent who wanted what all parents want: The best possible education for their children.

Visiting classrooms on the first day of school is a highlight every year.
I am proud to support our teachers and leaders in serving our students.
It is my honor to present our graduates with their diplomas.
